What represents our country more than American Sports?
Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier when he started for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. That year, he won the Rookie of the Year Award and went on to play in 6 consecutive All-Star games. IN 1949, he won the National League MVP award. His number 42 has been retired by all baseball teams in MLB. He was the first black player inducted to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame.
